H. Lee Sturgeon, a civic leader from Rocky Ford, Colorado, reports on a speech given the previous night by Senator Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.). During an interview on KAVI Radio on July 6, 1967, Sturgeon reviews the topics that the senator addressed including tuition tax credits for higher education, the Republican-proposed Human Investment Act, which would provide funding for on-the-job training, the Job Corps, revenue sharing programs and decentralization of government, the national debt and the devaluation of the dollar, and whether the senator would support tax increases versus reductions in government spending. Sturgeon relates Sen. Dominick's opinion on whether the Vietnam War is being waged successfully as well as the military strategies he would use to hasten the end of the war.
