Christine Vega (she/her/ella) where we delve into the creative power behind Chicana feminism in the classroom, triangulate the place for creativity and praxis in assessment, and highlight the importance of cultivating and tapping into those "funds of knowledge" (Moll and colleagues, 1992) that students bring from their lived experiences into relationship with our content and learning environments. 
 

About the Expert: Dra. Christine Vega is an IRISE postdoctoral fellow at the University of Denver, a community activist, mother-scholar, and an active member of the Chicana M(other)work Collective. She has taught in the Morgridge College of Education at DU, and helps to facilitate faculty learning communities in the Office of Teaching and Learning. She centers her scholarship around the voices of BIPOC thinkers and activists, and her recent work focuses on access for parenting and caretaking students in Higher Ed. Through the lens of Chicana feminism, she studies methodologies and epistemologies in application to community, spirituality, and activism.
