2021 Western Places | Western Spaces Conference
Since March, 2020, we have seen a world of change. The COVID-19 pandemic turned our economy upside down, changed our consumption patterns, and re-ordered our notions about how and where to work and live. The impacts of climate change are increasingly evident in the ferocity of our wildfire seasons and extreme weather events. And the inequities in our societyāhighlighted in the disproportionate impacts of COVID across communitiesāhave become impossible to ignore.
In the face of all these challenges, we donāt want to ābounce backā to business-as-usual. Instead, the focus for RMLUIās 30th Western Places | Western Spaces conference is on how to bounce forward and build communities that are thriving, healthy, equitable places for both people and nature.
Sessions from the 2021 Western Places | Western Spaces conference covered a range of topics, including equity, housing, transportation, and natural resources. Videos are available below.
