In April 2021, I had the chance to sit down and talk with Phyllis Rostykus, a group facilitator at the Longmont Community Justice Partnership in Longmont, CO. What resulted was this short video where Phyllis presents many insights to what makes restorative justice unique and effective. Not only does this process provide an opportunity for responsible parties to make reparations, but this alternative approach to our common justice system builds a network of support and community around individuals, rather than isolating them. In short, through her endearing ways, Phyllis makes a strong case for expanding this practice nation-wide.
