Paula Burger was born in Poland in 1934. She was sent to the Vilna Ghetto in Poland when she was eight years old. Her mother was taken to a mass grave outside of the ghetto and shot. Paula and her father fled into the woods with the Bielski Partisans where they stayed for the remainder of the war.
