Interview with Letitia Williams conducted by Sandra Minton. Born in Montgomery Alabama, Letitia Williams holds a degree in Physical Education and Dance from Tuskegee University and a Masters in dance from Smith College. Letitia taught dance at different educational levels for 45 years. She spent 24 years at the University of Colorado, Boulder in the Theatre and Dance Department. There, she founded and served as Artistic Director of the Harambee Dancers and Drummers, a multi-racial African dance and drum ensemble. She has been involved in a number of community organizations including The Spirituals Project, Colorado Dance Alliance, The African-American Task Force, and Links Denver Chapter. She has also organized and directed the Redeemer Dancers, a liturgical dance company at her church.
