John moved to Westminster in the 1930?s. John served on Library Committee in 1944 with Jerry Smith. He served on the Westminster City Council and was Mayor of Westminster from 1944-1946. He became the first paid night patrolman on the Adams County Sheriff?s staff for the Westminster Area. At that time Westminster had no police department and relied on the members of the Sheriffs department that lived in our area. He also served on the Westminster Library Board in 1944. John and his family resided at the historic Harris House 7996 Bradburn Blvd. His daughter Mary was married to Jim collier in the home. Jim became a volunteer fireman and served as a fire chief.
