Mr. Christman was born in Topeka Kansas in 1922. He worked first as a laborer and later as a lineman doing communications maintenance on the Grand Canyon Railway Line. He explains his job in communications maintenance and his work as a troubleshooter for the telephone and telegraph lines. Other topics discussed include: cattle trains; passenger trains; the job duties of the Station Agent and the Telegraph Agent; trouble on the railroad during lightning strikes; and various information regarding railroad communications.
