Senator Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.) delivers a speech to attendees of the Motel Association meeting in Fort Collins, Colo. on Sept. 27, 1963. Sen. Dominick discusses the recently passed Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. He reports that there are a large number of pieces of legislation before Congress on topics including civil rights, taxes, and foreign aid, and explains why it will be difficult to pass these bills before the end of the session. Dominick also discusses the federal budget, saying that decreases in government spending must accompany any tax cuts in order to avoid raising the national debt limit, curb inflation and stabilize the dollar.
