Senator Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.) delivers his weekly radio address, Report from Washington on May 8, 1964. Sen. Dominick discusses the recent struggle of Burma's military government against communist influences, coming from external sources such as China, as well as with internal insurgents. Dominick also discusses the recently collapsed anti-government coalition, the National Democratic Front, which was dominated by White Flag, the Burmese communist party. He says our focus on South Vietnam should not distract the United States from these other conflicts because the loss of Burma to communist rule could mean that the entire region of Southeast Asia would be affected.
