Report from Washington. Tele excise tax, 1965 April 8

Senator Peter H. Dominick (R-Colo.) delivers his weekly radio address, Report from Washington, on Apr. 7, 1965. Sen. Dominick discusses the bill he has introduced to gradually eliminate the excise tax on telephone service. He reviews the history of the tax, the fact that all other taxes on utility services imposed during wartime have been eliminated, and points out that this tax cut would be of great assistance to low and middle income subscribers.
