Goodblanket discusses being adopted into a non-American Indian family as infant, and moving to Colorado Springs at the age of six after her mother was widowed. She describes local schools such as Zebulon Pike Elementary, Corpus Christi, and the Colorado Springs School. Goodblanket married Martin Dean Goodblanket in 1974 and raised three children in Colorado Springs.Employed for many years as a social worker for Colorado Springs School District 11, Goodblanket discusses American Indian activities within the Civil Rights Movement and the role of women within Native American society. Actively involved with Native American Women's Association, Pikes Peak Inner Tribal Council, Lone Feather Council, and the Urban League among many other organizations.
